Default HoM Price Help to get 30/30

My HoM is currently at 26.

I'm gonna get the rest of my Fellowship (Heroes + ARMOR) for 1 more point.

So leaving me at 27.

I wanted to know which it would be cheaper to do to reach 30.

Get an Elite Luxon/Kurzick Armor giving me +2 For a Full armor display and a +1 for The Armor. Getting me to 30.

OR

Getting a Destroyer Weapon for +1 and Ancient armor for a +2 Getting me to 30.

I Estimated Luxon and Kurzick to be around.. 130-140m without a helm.
I have no clue on the price of destroyer weapons & i heard Ancient armor is pretty cheap.

Which ones cheaper? Help please

They'll run you about the same. A destroyer weapon is about 60k and full ancient is 10k/piece + materials if I'm not mistaken. Just get whichever one you like more

I'm kinda at the same point myself, either prestige armor or weapons.

Personally I would do lots of Shards of Orr speedclears, its very easy and puggable. It gets you lots of diamonds and onyx gemstones which make destroyer weapons a ton cheaper

Thats what I'm doing anyways :P, I'll leave the armor for 30-35 HOM title.

Heh, Destroyer weapons are worth at least 100k now, the prices are very inflated since Anet announced HoM rewards. I'd go for the armors, will be much cheaper + less aggro dealing with traders in Kamadan.

not completeely sure what to do at thiss point if i could find a destroyer weapon for -80k it would seem cheaper but if fitz is right at it being 100k then i would just end up getting kurz armor.

i have to do shards of orr runs anyway for dayna so thanks for motivating me.

Ancient armor will likely be a bit cheaper since the base price of just the armor pieces is 10k ea., not counting possible rare materials. Kurzick/Luxon will cost you 15k per piece PLUS 80 amber/jade that usually runs 600-800g ea.

For weapons, have you considered Oppressor weapons instead? They usually go for 75k. If you have finished WiK, you can buy the war supplies and craft it yourself. Or find a seller in-game or on guru who is willing to craft the weapon for you.

Er...you can add other Opp weapons, as long as they're not the same type (i.e. you dedicated a longbow and get an Opp Recurve bow, it wouldn't count for another point). As you said, a Destroyer weapon will only add +1 to your HoM, so why not get a cheap(er) Opp weapon instead?

EDIT: @ Dewshine below...doh, you're right. Wasn't paying attention at all there. Just not my week it seems. Nevermind! >.<

i get what your saying but doing that wouldnt get me a +1
getting 4 more opp weapons will get me the "5 Weapon Statues" while a destroyer weapon will have given me "Destroyer Weapon Statue" i already have the opp weapon statue

Because he will need more than just one more oppressor weapon to get another point?

Just a side note to the armors, Luxon might be a tiny tad cheaper than Kurzick, seeing amber is slightly more costly than jade.

Anyways it might be quite close on costing the same whichever you do, so dunno.

Depending on the price of diamonds (4.25k~5k) you can get destroyer weapon for 70~80k considering you buy everything. You can obviously lower cost by having the materials themselves.

I suggest you work on getting: Destroyer Weapon then Oppressor Weapon. That will get you to 30/30 and will save you a lot of money if you don't want to get Elite Luxon (or Ancient). (Opp Weapon can be easily obtained by finishing War in Kryta)

So the choice lies with you...what do you value more? Time or money?

Because I like casual pvp I'd go with the kurz armor and earn the amber myself. Just do Ab/JQ/FA on their respective zday and you should have that amber sooner rather than later. Plus you'll get some balthazarfaction which you can turn into zkeys.

Well, if your goal is 30 then I don't see why you can't say 30/30. Max is 50 points though, obviously.

I realize, reading through, that the OP has already answered his own question. I simply can't not respond to this one, though.

I find it hard to believe they're going for at least 100k on average. It's pretty easy to figure the current cost of destroyer weapons. Any Destroyer Weapon costs the same stuff to craft. I'm quoting the trader NPCs' buy and sell prices as I check them while writing this post.
  • 5k crafting fee
  • 10 Diamonds (47-60k)
  • 10 Onyx (4.1-5.5k)
  • 100 Iron (2.7-3.6k)
  • 250 Granite (9.75-12.25k)
So if I had all that stuff, I could just sell the materials to the NPCs (and not spend the 5k crafting fee) for a minimum of 68.55k. I could buy the materials from the NPCs, spend the 5k, and craft myself a destroyer weapon for 86.35k. (Of course, these numbers vary when the material trader NPCs' prices change.)

The NPC crafter is relatively easy to get to for any character who has finished EotN. I find it very hard to believe that there is enough more demand from players wanting to buy them already crafted compared to players willing to run to the crafter to maintain a 15k+ service fee that would get the PC into the 100k+ range. (Usually, player-to-player trade in most materials uses a price half way between NPC buy and sell. If you don't have the materials yourself and want to save a few plat for the cost of more time shopping, you can look to buy materials from other players.)

I'm sure there are some players, with fake-money to spare to whom time is more important, willing to pay such high premiums for getting it done fast. I'm sure sure there are some players, with time to spare, willing to stand around advertising to sell them for 100k+, hoping to run into the former. It doesn't make sense that the average is that high, though.

The only reason you would need them for HoM and not be able to craft them yourself is if you can or will not finish the primary NM EotN storyline on at least one of your characters.

You can use the same approach to figure the cost of armors - look up the crafting fees and materials required on wiki, then check the material trader NPCs and do a little arithmetic.
